| If you wish to register and protect your name for
this chat type the following command into the chat:
/msg nickserv register password email In the above there are four parts. Here is the breakdown of all four: /msg: is the command needed to send message to nickserv for name registration. nickserv: The server recieving information for name registration. register: The action your are requestion nickserv to exicute. password: in place of password type the password you want to use for the name you are using. email: type the email you want your activation code sent to. EXAMPLE: You have logged into the chat with the name waldo22. You want to protect that name so no one else can use it and you want the password to be lostdog and your email address is waldo22@hotmail.com. You would type into the chat the following: /msg nickserv register lostdog waldo22@hotmail.com A confirmation code would be sent to your email address with a message command to enter into the chat to finalize the registration. The confirmation command would look something like the following: /msg NickServ confirm Cr56m89Z3 From this time on after you have logged into the chat with your protected name you will need to enter your password by selecting from the Start menu (upper left) "Nick Login". You will be given a prompt to enter your password. Don't be alarmed that you see the password and it's acceptance on the chat screen. You are the ONLY ONE that sees the message from command entries. You must not allow 30 days to pass without logging in and using your registered name with password. If you do you will be required to re-register. Have fun and enjoy. :-) |
